Hogwarts Legacy Dev, Studio Gobo Working on an Unannounced UE5 Game

Studio Gobo doesn’t really have all that much under its belt, being mainly a studio contracted to help develop other games. However, the studio’s various job listings that they are currently working on an unannounced Triple-A game being made in Unreal Engine 5. However, we have no idea what it is.

Gobo has a storied history, working on Triple-A games like Arkane’s Redfall, Portkey Games’ Hogwarts: Legacy, Disney Infinity, For Honor, and more, but even then we don’t know whether the studio is working on this game themselves, or once again helping a larger studio with a new game.

Among their other job listings includes a Horizon: Zero Dawn game in cooperation with developer Guerrilla Games, but this is most likely not the unannounced Unreal Engine 5 game, mainly because the Horizon games are not developed in Unreal. They instead use the graphics engine Decima.

Gobo has a good amount of experience working on other games in Unreal Engine, as Redfall and Hogwarts Legacy both make use of Unreal as their own engines. Other games that they’ve helped with, such as For Honor, do have different engines, but their experience with Redfall will hopefully give them an edge.

Of course, this is all still rampant speculation so far, as we have no idea what game they’re even working on or the circumstances surrounding it. Once again, it could be them assisting with development from a larger studio, or doing one themselves. Even then, however we’d have no idea what the game was even about, what genre it was, or when it’s releasing.

We can likely expect an announcement at some point in the future, though exactly how close that announcement is remains to be seen. In the meantime, all we can do is keep up with any announcements that Gobo makes.
