A recent leak on ResetEra dealing with upcoming Epic Game Store exclusives has revealed that apparently at least two much-wanted games, Dead Island 2 and Saints Row 5, will both be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on their release, much like other games have been in the past since the store first opened.
The leaked list, if it’s accurate, does at least give fans of both series some comfort. While Dead Island 2 was announced back in 2014, there hasn’t been any real information on its development except for the news that the game has repeatedly been shifted around between developers. It is, apparently, still being worked on though.
Saints Row 5 hasn’t even been announced yet, but it seems like with its inclusion on this list that it’s actually coming. There hasn’t been any sort of hint of Saints Row since Agents of Mayhem, a 2017 team-based shooter that fell off the radar fairly quickly and got mixed reviews.
There have been leaks and hints about both games, but if they’re both Epic Games Store exclusives that may put a small dent in how much they can sell. Many gamers still aren’t fans of the store and it snatching up Triple-A releases to make exclusive doesn’t help its image.
Even so, a number of games released on that platform such as Borderlands 3 have still managed to make money, and provided they scratch that gamer itch, Dead Island 2 and Saints Row 5 may be the same way, if they’re actually coming and if they’re both released there.
Either way, despite your thoughts on Epic Games Store exclusives, the inclusion of both of these games on the list at least hopefully proves that they’re both still coming and being worked on. You can read the rest of the list on ResetEra for yourself by following this link.
