Even Shuhei Yoshida Doesn’t Know If Abandoned Is “More Than What We See”

Blue Box Game Studios’ Abandoned is probably the most controversial story of 2021. We have heard various rumors and reports about the game but still, there is very little confirmed about the new horror game from Blue Box.

Officially, it’s an indie horror game that will offer a cinematic experience to its players. However, different reports and rumors have fans thinking that it’s “more than just we see”. Some fans even believe that Hideo Kojima is somehow involved in the project and it’s a Silent Hill project.

These rumors went viral and Abandoned became the center of attention quickly from being “just another indie game” in the industry. After all the hype and misconceptions, studio director Hasan Kahraman had to put an official statement regarding the project:

That isn’t the only clarification message from Blue Box director about the project as the studio later on was also accused of copying content. All those clarifications however, didn’t stop fans from believing that the game is something more than it’s believed. Now, fans have started asking PlayStation Indies head Shuhei Yoshida about the mysterious project. One of the fans inquired that whether “Abandoned is more than what we see?”. The reply was a bit different rather than the traditional “no comment” response. He said, “No, I have no idea”. So Even the Head of indies at PlayStation seem to have no idea whether the game is more than what it has been confirmed officially so far.

It’s also worth mentioning here that Abandoned was also not featured in Sony’s recent Indie Spotlight event. Abandoned is announced to release on PS5 in 2021. However, as things stand, it seems quite difficult that the game will be released in 2021 and we can expect delays!
