Final Fantasy 16 is “Pretty Much Complete”, Trailer Coming Soon

Since the announcement of Final Fantasy 16 in 2020 at the PlayStation Showcase, fans have been eagerly waiting for the game to release. We haven’t heard much about the game but whatever we have seen so far, the game looks great.

Square Enix received great response for Final Fantasy 15 and its open-world and now fans are hoping to to get a better experience with FFXVI. Now, if you have been looking for an update on the development status of the game, we have a good news for you. According to game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, the game’s development is almost complete.

He confirmed this update during a NieR Re[in]carnation stream:

Yoshida San also revealed that we will be getting a new trailer soon for the game very soon as it is already complete. We could have recieved the trailer earlier but it got delayed due to some “factors”.

As of now, Final Fantasy 16 does not have any release date. We are hoping that Square Enix will reveal a release date with the next trailer. The game was reported to arrive on PC as well alongside PS5 however, it is now believed the game will not be released on PC for atleast 6 months after the release on PS5.

As for consoles, the game has a full one year of exclusivity for the PS5. So if you have been eagerly waiting for the game and want to play it as soon as possible, PlayStation 5 would be the only platform that will allow you play FFXVI earliest.

We are hoping that Final Fantasy 16 will prove to be a success for Square Enix. The company has already sold its western studios to Embracer Group Crystal Dynamics and Eidos. The company apparently wants to focus on its Japanese IPs and studios and FFXVI seems to be one of them.
