When Kena: Bridge of Spirits was announced back in June 2020, it was a nice little surprise for gamers at Sony’s Future Gaming Show. Ember Lab, the developer of the game made fans fall in love with the protagonist and the world instantly. Since then, we all have been waiting impatiently for the game to release.
As you may already know, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a console exclusive however, the game will also release for PC. Since the game is also releasing for PlayStation 5, it is natural to wonder that how the gameplay experience will be enhanced for the new generation console from Sony?
While talking to GamesRadar, Ember Lab’s co-founder revealed that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will take full advantage of PS5’s hardware capabilities:
Sony’s new console has allowed the studio to “build dense, lush environments”, as well as add new layers of interaction to Kena’s combat mechanics
Apart from this, the new PlayStation exclusive will also utilize Dualsense’s adaptive triggers to enhance the immersion level of players:
As a spirit guide, Kena can transform her staff into a bow. This mechanic takes full advantage of the DualSense adaptive triggers. When Kena draws her bow, players can feel the resistance in the triggers as the wood bends and strains under pressure. In combination with the haptic feedback, the player has an immersive experience drawing a bow.
Furthermore, they also explained that players will able to see all the Rot creatures they have collected on screen at once on PS5. There are 100 of those little creatures to collect in the game. So if you have collected all of those, you will be able to see all of them on screen with all the customizations you have done for them.
We are not sure if this will be the same for PC but for PS4, things might be different due to limited hardware capabilities.
With more and more developers getting accustomed to PS5’s capabilities, naturally, players can expect better games on Sony’s new gaming console. It’s just the start of a new generation. Many jaw dropping experiences await!
Kena: Bridge of Spirits will release as PlayStation exclusive on PS4, PS5 and PC on August 24, 2021.
