For at least a year now, Polish game developer People Can Fly has been working on a game currently only known as Project Gemini. We don’t know very much about it, but one thing that we do know, according to the studio’s job listings, is that the game will be running on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. UE5 is definitely a good news for the project as whatever we have seen or played on Unreal Engine 5 so far has shown a lot of promise.
People Can Fly has been responsible for a number of well-known games in its history, including Painkiller and Bulletstorm. It also developed Gears of War: Judgment back in 2013. Its most recent offering, Outriders, unfortunately didn’t do well, but hopefully Project Gemini can help to revitalize the studio.
Project Gemini will apparently be a Triple-A level game, and will be published with the help of Square Enix, the same publisher that People Can Fly worked with for Outriders. Despite us not knowing anything about the game, we at least do know that the game is apparently being prepared for release in 2026.
At the same time, Project Gemini is only one of multiple projects that People Can Fly is currently working on. Various other projects named Dagger, Bifrost, Thunder, and Victoria, are all being self-published by the studio with release windows all aimed at anywhere in 2025-2026.
We know little about these games as well, other then the fact that Project Dagger is an action-adventure game worked on by People Can Fly’s New York branch, and that Take-Two Interactive was originally going to publish it before the two companies parted ways back in September of last year.
Considering the huge amount of graphical fidelity and power that Unreal Engine 5 will bring to the table, we can at least know that whatever Project Gemini is, it will undoubtedly look great. However, who knows when we’ll actually get any kind of information on how Gemini looks or plays, or what it’s even about.
Until we learn more, all we can do is keep track of what big gaming events People Can Fly will be at.
