Starfield will be a bit More “Hardcore RPG” Than Other Bethesda Games

Since the announcement of Starfield back in 2018, fans have been waiting impatiently to know more about the game. While Bethesda (now acquired by Microsoft), has been quiet about the new RPG since the announcement, things are changing now.

We saw a new teaser trailer for Starfield at E3 2021 with a release date announcement as well. Now that the release date of the game is out, it’s natural that we will hear and see more about the game as compared to its earlier years. If you aren’t aware, Starfield is being marketed as the first new RPG in 25 years from Bethesda Softworks.

Fans have also been wondering if Starfield will just be like Skyrim or Fallout when it comes to RPG aspects of the games or it will be more linear. To answer the question, Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios had following to say:

It’s also a bit more hardcore of a role playing game than we’ve done. It’s got some really great character systems – choosing your background, things like that. We’re going back to some things that we used to do in games long ago that we felt have really let players express the character they want to be. So I think when you see it being played, you would recognize it as something we made

So if you were worried about the RPG aspects of Starfield, you shouldn’t as the man himself has revealed that Starfield even be more hardcore RPG as compared to what Bethesda has been doing in the past. Since it’s a new IP after such a long time, more depth and more RPG elements shouldn’t be a surprise for fans.

However, the Bethesda Softworks’ recent Fallout 76 left a lot of fans angry upon its launch and fans will definitely hoping that Starfield doesn’t follow similar footsteps. However, one thing is for sure, Bethesda’s Starfield will gather Fallout and The Elder Scrolls level hype and fans will have high hopes from it. And no one wants a repeat of Cyberpunk 2077 disaster with Starfield. Hopefully, Bethesda will be aware of that.

As for whether Starfield is going to be an Xbox and PC exclusive or not, Bethesda and Microsoft have confirmed that Starfield will release exclusively for Xbox X|S and PC. The game will also skip an Xbox One release.

The game however, could appear on PlayStation 5 as many games these days are timed exclusive. Nothing can be said for sure as Starfield will be owned by Microsoft and they might not want to release such a prestigious IP for their rival console.

Now about the question whether Starfield will be release on Xbox Game Pass or not, nothing is confirmed yet on that regard too. There are high chances that Starfield make its way to game pass but if Microsoft chooses otherwise, it won’t be a surprise.
