Long, unnecessary and unskippable videogame intros are the bane of any gamer’s existence. If you play a game every day, having to sit through a lame intro every time you open up the game is just exhausting.
If you’re one of my fellow intro-haters, you’ll be disappointed to know that the newly released PC port of Days Gone has an unskippable intro video. Some more bad news is that there’s no option in the game’s settings to disable this intro video so you don’t have to watch it every time you launch the game.
It’s extremely strange that even in 2021 we have unskippable intros like these present in AAA games and the developers don’t even bother to put an option to disable them in the game. It’s not like our gameplay experience will be ruined if we don’t watch the intro video every time we play.
Skip Intros in Days Gone PC
That said, some good news is that through a little tweaking with the game’s files, you can manually disable the intro movie of Days Gone permanently. This will only take a minute or two to do.
To do this, first you have to navigate to the configuration path of Days Gone. Press the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard at the same time to open the run dialog box and paste the following text in it:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\BendGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\
Press enter after pasting the text and then open the file named ‘Game.ini’. In this text file, paste the following text:
[/script/movieplayer.movieplayersettings] bWaitForMoviesToComplete=FalsebMoviesAreSkippable=True
StartupMovies=
After pasting the text, save the text file and close the folder. Now, launch open the game and you’ll never see the annoying intro movie ever again! And if you are facing any other issue related to Days Gone like controller or crashes, we have got you covered in that regard too.
