How to Fix Controller, Dualsense Issues in Days Gone PC

The PC port of Days Gone has just been released and it’s having a very decent launch day. Considering how buggy PC ports can be on their launch day, Days Gone isn’t doing all that bad.

That said, as expected, people have been encountering a few bugs and glitches in the game, especially with their controllers.

One of the most prevalent controller bugs that people have been experiencing in Days Gone is a controller issue where they are unable to steer the bike in the game. These issues can arise for any controller even if you are using PS5 Dualsense.

If you’re one of those people that are experiencing this controller bug, we’ve got a quick fix that will resolve this weird controller issue for you. Basically, the root cause of this problem is that by default, Steam client fails to assign the some keys and buttons which ultimately don’t perform the required actions in game.

For instance, if you are unable to steer the bike in Days Gone PC, you need to follow these steps:

  • Open up the Steam menu and right click on Days Gone.
  • Hover your cursor over ‘Manage’ and select ‘Controller Configuration’.
  • In this window, select ‘ON FOOT’ and then select the ‘On BIKE’ tab under that.
  • This will bring up a controller, under which you’ll see empty boxes.
  • Select the left stick of the controller and add the movement inputs in the empty box for it.

After you’re done entering the inputs, close this window and launch the game. Now, you should be able to steer your bike freely in Days Gone.

Another controller issue that some people have been facing in Days Gone is an issue with the crafting weapon selection wheel/survival wheel where the wheel is completely unusable.

Luckily, you can fix this issue in the exact same way as you did with the bike steering.

Open up the controller configuration menu like you did before and select the ‘SURVIVALWHEEL’ tab this time around.

Instead of selecting the left stick, select the right stick this time and choose ‘CAMERA JOYSTICK’ and Survival Vision’.

This will fix the crafting weapon selection wheel for you and you’ll be able to properly use it now.

Lastly, if your controller isn’t being recognized at all in Days Gone, go to the Controller settings in the game and make sure the ‘Ignore Controller’ setting isn’t active.

If it is, disable this setting and re-launch the game to be able to play with your controller.
