Death Stranding PC Generated €23M in Revenue Until Dec, 2020

There were a lot of hopes associated with Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. After the release of the game as PlayStation exclusive, the highly anticipated title was met with mixed reviews. Some critics didn’t like the game and the game was termed as “walking simulator”. However, fans around the globe did enjoy the unique experience from Kojima Productions and the game managed to secure some descent stats.

After a few months, the game was also released for PC in July, 2020. The game however, had already achieved “break-even” status before its release on PC. So, how did the game perform on PC?

According to Digital Bros (Parent company of 505 Games) revenue report, Death Stranding has managed to earn them €23M in Revenue as of December 31, 2020. That’s almost 5.5 months of revenue since the release of the game. Now that 3 months of 2021 have also passed, naturally, those numbers must have increased. My bet is that the number should be roughly around €30M, No?

Death Stranding was received well on PC as it was well optimized for the platform. Kojima himself stated that the PC port was good enough to satisfy the “opinionated PC players”. The legendary developer has a lot of affection for the PC players and we can expect his future games to also release on PC.

Kojima Productions is reportedly working on a new game however, nothing has been announced officially yet. Since Kojima likes to tease his new games quite early, we can expect the teasers to start flowing in soon.

Overall, it’s good to see console games doing great on PC. This obviously pushes publishers to release more games on PC which is great for PC gaming community!
