Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that the much anticipated Fable reboot might have been scaled down due to the limitations of the Forzatech engine. Well, it seems that the rumor got attention of a lot of people and now, one of game’s senior producers have tried to address fans’ concerns on Twitter.
As you can see, she has described “scoping” a normal, necessary and healthy part of game development. I think she is right about it however, if a game has been scaled down and scoped at the level of Cyberpunk 2077, it shouldn’t really be acceptable. Since we don’t really know much about the original scope in the first place, and haven’t seen much of the since announcement.
So in short, for the time being, Fable producer has tried on ensure fans that they shouldn’t be worried about the scope of the game and they know what they are doing. After Scalebound cancellation and worried reports about Fable, fans of the franchise has been worried about it. I think, Playground Games should be more open about the project’s progress and if they have something to show, they definitely should.
In any case, it’s good to know that the developers are monitoring and hear feedback. But with the many disasters in gaming industry in recent years, fans have become more wearey when it comes to trusting publishers. Good communication can be a great way to keep the negativity away. As of now, we don’t have a release date for Fable. There is a Microsoft Bethesda Showcase on June 12 and we might hear something about the game then.
