Fortnite Patch 16.20 was expected to go live this week. Naturally, Fortnite servers were expected to go down too for some duration. If you are unable to connect to Fortnite servers, know that the the update is going live.
Since Epic Games has rolled out the latest update for Fortnite, the servers are down. The down time has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Switch and Mobile platforms. As for the patch file size on each platform, they are as following:
- PS4/PS5: Around 3GB
- Xbox Platfroms: Around 2.8 GB
- Nintendo Switch: 2 GB
- PC: Not confirmed yet
Now if you are wondering that how long the maintenance will last? Well, as expected, the downtime is should last for several hours. If you want to know exactly when the servers will go back live, you should follow Fortnite’s official channels for the latest updates.

Update v16.20 is scheduled to release on April 13. Downtime will begin at approx. 2 AM ET (06:00 UTC).

As for the patch itself; it might not be a big one but if the leaks and official hints are to be believed, we can expect to see 50 players matchmaking, new vehicle cosmetics and unstable bow in the new patch.
