New Elden Ring Leak Hints At Gameplay Footage Or New Demo

From Software has been very cagey about revealing anything related to their upcoming new game Elden Ring. While we’ve seen some footage from the game’s handful of trailers, there’s not really that much to go on. A new Elden Ring leak, however, hints that gameplay footage or even a demo may come soon.

The leak isn’t much to go on, simply a poor-quality picture of a vista that’s often been shown in promotional material, which shows the wide-open world players can explore. The difference, however, is that the game’s character is actually now in the shot, something that hasn’t been shown in trailers, so it might actually be in-game footage this time.

From Software had previously allowed various content creators and news outlets to watch a 16-minute-long piece of gameplay footage, but hasn’t allowed them to show any of that footage. While normally leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, apparently others have looked into the new Elden Ring leak and determined it was legitimate.

From Software has previously published short snippets of gameplay for their games before, both inside and out of big gaming events, but with a new Sony Playstation showcase happening this Thursday, September 9, it’s very possible that we’ll finally get something concrete about the game then.

Whether it will actually be gameplay footage remains to be seen, but Elden Ring finally got a trailer at the start of this year’s Summer of Gaming, so hopefully both Sony and Microsoft will be chomping at the bit to get some footage for themselves.

The Demon’s Souls remake that released earlier this year as a Playstation 5 launch title, for instance, was revealed not just with the game’s opening cinematic but also a significant part of its tutorial. Even though that was Bluepoint Studios, not From, behind the wheel, hopefully the same philosophy will apply to Elden Ring.

Either way, if the release date holds, Elden Ring will be releasing January 21 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC.
