Among the Nintendo Switch Pro rumors, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Switch console with a 7-Inch OLED screen being its highlight. However, the performance specs of the system remain pretty much the same and the new Switch owners won’t get any performance boosts with the new console.
Since the announcement, many fans have been wondering if they should upgrade to the new console. Well, to make things a bit easier for you, one Nintendo’s marketing managers have revealed that if the fans aren’t excited for the new bigger, OLED screen, they should stick with the current Nintendo Switch they have:
Nope. Not what’s for. Stick with the current one if you’re not digging the screen.

From the neutral’s perspective, the opinion is not that bad as the OLED Nintendo Switch doesn’t offer anything significant. Then there are rumors of Nintendo Switch Pro which could be a worthy upgrade upon the release. Fun Fact! Sony’s PS Vita also had an OLED back in the day. While the technology does make the screen look more vibrant, I don’t think it’s worthy of an upgrade. However, if you want to purchase your first Nintendo Switch, the OLED variant is definitely recommended.
There has also been discussion if the upgrades introduced in OLED Switch are worthy of an extra $50 price tag. Again, it all really depends on what do you prefer. If you want your Nintendo Switch to feel more vibrant and like it to be bigger (even slightly) and also don’t care much about the specs it has to offer, then it’s worth it.
But keep in mind that when Nintendo Switch Pro is revealed in near future, it will be hard for you to resist the temptation again.
For now, we know that OLED Nintendo Switch is releasing on October 8, 2021 for a price tag of $349.99. The pre-orders for the console however, aren’t live yet so you should keep tabs on the official Nintendo channels for further updates.
