343 Industries’ Halo Infinite is only two days away from release, but people are now starting to wonder exactly how long the Halo Infinite campaign mode will be. Unlike other Halo games, Infinite is an open-world game, where Master Chief can run around a new Halo fighting the Banished. So how long is it, actually?
As an open-world game, players can have the game take as long or as short to complete as possible. There are a number of Banished strongholds to take over, Marine prisoners to rescue, and bosses to fight, so if you really want to explore Zeta Halo and the first open-world Halo game, you’ll be in for a long ride.
Like many first-person shooters, going from mission to mission and following the story to the exclusion of everything else will last you about seven to eight hours. If you want to do everything, however, you’ll be looking at playing the game for around 20 hours, an unprecedented campaign time in a Halo game.
The Halo Infinite campaign will hopefully be worth every hour, as well, considering the divisive response that the previous game, Halo 5: Guardians, received. While the multiplayer has already gone over well with most people, the campaign is an entirely different beast, especially as the Chief must also find Cortana and stop her and her rogue faction of AI from taking over the galaxy.
Either way, with a big area of a Halo ring to explore, plenty of weapons to shoot, enemies to fight, and story to uncover, the Halo Infinite campaign still promises to be a fun ride no matter how long you take with it. There’s still, again, two days until the campaign actually becomes available, too, so until then, all we can do is hope that 343 manages to finish this new Halo trilogy with a bang. The game will be coming out exclusively for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
