Here’s How To Transfer Your Ghost Of Tsushima Save From PS4 To PS5

The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be coming to Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 tomorrow, August 20. If you’ve picked up a Playstation 5 since the game released and don’t want to start over, Sucker Punch Studios has a way to transfer your Ghost of Tsushima save between consoles in time for the Ikki Island expansion.

Thankfully, the process is fairly easy, and all you have to do is follow the guidelines that Sucker Punch put in a tweet.

  • First, have the game in your PS5 Storage and find it.
  • Download the latest patch for the game
  • Select the game in your PS5 storage, and then go to “Transfer PS4 Console Save.”

That should take care of everything, but if you’re a PS Plus member that has Cloud saves, you should also make sure to download the save locally before attempting to transfer to try and minimize the chances of something going wrong during your save transfer.

Ghost of Tsushima came out in July of 2020 and has gone on to be one of the Playstation 4’s most-acclaimed games, as players took on the role of Jin Sakai as he attempts to keep his honor while fighting to drive the Mongols off of the Japanese island of Tsushima.

The Ghost of Tsushima saves on Playstation 5 will prevent you from having to play through the entire game again and instead be able to jump immediately to the Ikki Island DLC, where Jin must travel to the neighboring island of Ikishima in order to face a new force of Mongols.

The director’s cut also adds a number of quality of life and graphics changes to the game, including Japanese lip sync for the Japanese audio track, various graphical upgrades, haptic feedback for the game’s weapons via the Playstation 5’s DualSense controller, and more.

Iki Island (originally reported in a leak as a standalone expansion or sequel) will give players a variety of new mechanics, missions, and outfits to experience on the island, along with a deeply personal story related to Jin himself. So, whether you’ll be transferring your save tomorrow or downloading the DLC on the Playstation 4, hopefully Tsushima will welcome you back with open arms and plenty of Mongols to kill.
